Macon Magazine's celebration of Women in Business attracted women, and men, from around Middle Georgia. The special Women in Business section in Macon Magazine's June issue and the party was co-sponsored by Cox Communications and plans for an annual event are in the works. Celebrating at the Cox Capitol Theatre in downtown Macon were Billy and Janet Waker with Rachel and Jon Lewis and Betsy Fitzgerald.

The inaugural Miller-Lanier-Central Foundation Scholarship was awarded to Burgess Brown at Central's Senior Honors Night. An Eagle Scout, Burgess has lead fundraising campaigns for the Fuller Center and Invisible Children through Central's Key Club. He is the Varsity Soccer Team Captain, Central Post News Editor, and a member of the Regional Champion CHS Mock Trial Team. He will enroll at Georgia Tech in the fall. In partnership with the Community Foundation of Central Georgia, the Miller-Lane-Central Foundation is the first endowment for a Bibb County Public School.
