Tubman Museum

Mixed media artworks exploring gerrymandering, voting, and the ongoing struggle against African American disenfranchisement.

Mercer Music at Capricorn

With a voice reminiscent of Karen Dalton and psychedelic, lonely instrumentation, Southwest-born and Portland-based singer-songwriter Kassi Valazza will perform from her new album at Capricorn’s listening room.

Tattnall Square Park, Cherry St., and more.

Now in its 32nd year, the festival in Tattnall Square Park will take place on June 15 – 16. The 2nd annual parade on Cherry St., June 16.  Other highlights include the Real Talk Hip Hop Summit at the Douglass Theatre on June 14, plus many activities citywide.June 14, 7 p.m.

Atrium Health Amphitheater

Headlined by Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum “Princess of Hip-Hop Soul” Keyshia Cole with R&B icon Trey Songz, the tour also showcases Jaheim and K. Machelle.June 15, 7 p.m.

Grand Opera House

Students aged 12-18, guided by the Otis Redding Foundation’s team of world-class coaches, write and record original music over the course of the two-week program before the final performance.June 28, 9 p.m.

Grant’s Lounge

Florence, SC’s tribute to Widespread Panic since 2006, Machine Funk will perform a unique set of covers from their 120-song repertoire at Grant’s Lounge.July 12 –  21

Macon Little Theatre

The finale to their 90th anniversary season, MLT puts on “The Prom,” a musical comedy and Broadway sensation chronicling a troupe of theater stars who flock to a small town in support of a high schooler who wants to take her girlfriend to prom. July 12 – 27

Theatre Macon

Teenage newsboys go on strike in 1899 New York City in this beloved, joyful family musical, based on the Kenny Ortega cult classic 1990s film of the same name.July 26 – 28

Downtown Macon

Macon’s biggest music fest celebrates its 25th anniversary with headliner Digable Planets and 20+ other acts of diverse genres in venues across its downtown Bragg Jam Concert Crawl, plus Bragg Fam, Bragg Brunch, and The Night Before the Thing.July 21-28

Citywide contest

Local bakeries and restaurants compete in the second annual best-baked-good challenge.
