What is your mission?

We solve problems for businesses through a collection of tools and experience. The majority of our work is in the marketing and public relations arena, but we also have work in government relations and association management e.g., general business consulting, operational audits for efficiencies, etc.

What are you most excited about in our community?

Our community has an unmatched spirit. People really do care about each other and don’t mind stepping forward when called upon. Look at the Brookdale Warming Center, for example. Many organizations and volunteers have come together for the benefit of others out of the wings of tragedy.

You might be surprised to know: I am an Air Force-trained weather forecaster and spent 10 years filling in for local TV meteorologists on and off. So not only can we help solve your businesses challenges, we can also give you an accurate weather forecast. After 22 years, I still serve in the military; currently part-time in the Georgia Air National Guard.

What is the best business advice you ever received?

Never ever send an angry email or text! You may be under duress one day, and perfectly fine the next. You can never “take back” electronic correspondence – it is forever in digital purgatory and will come back to haunt you at the most inopportune time.

Your advice for women wanting to start their own business in Macon?

Do it. With all the resources (financial and otherwise) available to them, there is no good reason not to. I speak from first-hand experience. If you have the entrepreneurial spirit within you, it never quenches!

What is the most gratifying part of your job?

Helping others solve problems! I love a challenge and I get a tremendous amount of gratification from leaving things better than how I found them.

What has been the most challenging part of being a female business owner?

I think the challenges I have faced as a business owner are the same challenges faced by all business owners. As with anything in life, it is all in where you sit and how you handle the challenges and situations that arise.

I admire women who: Work hard.

I hope more women will: Truly learn, study and embrace leadership qualities. It is a learned skill and behavior and pays great dividends.

How can women better support each other?

We are blessed to have women business owners in the region that do support each other, and go the extra mile to help others. Take the Web for example. Three incredible smart women entrepreneurs created a space – both physically and virtually – for other women to work, learn, collaborate and most importantly, thrive!

How can men better support women business owners?

I hope to be the best at our craft; whereby we will be supported due to the quality of our work – regardless of the fact that we are woman-owned.
