What is the mission of your business?
Our mission is to spread joy throughout our community by creating confidence in individuals through healthy, beautiful smiles!

What lessons did you learn because of the COVID-19 pandemic?
I found out I was going to be a mom for the first time and became a business owner a month before the pandemic shut down began! To say that I have learned a lot is an understatement, but I think the biggest lesson I learned during the pandemic was to not waste precious time worrying over things that I cannot control.

Your advice for women wanting to start their own business in Macon?
To quote Nike: Just do it. Time slips by no matter what, so you better start chasing your dreams this very minute!

How do you define success?
To me, success means giving my all every single day to be the best version of myself and to encourage others to do the same. If this is achieved, there isn’t a goal that can’t be reached!

What are you most excited about right now in our community?
The growth in Macon since I first moved here in 2017 has been unreal to witness. The last five years have brought new restaurants, breweries and activities, and I am so excited to see our community growing every single day with the addition of young families and professionals from all over the country.

Why is Central Georgia a good place to do business?
Central Georgia provides the perfect balance between a growing metropolis and comforting small town. You can really make an impact, and you have the ability to get involved in all aspects of the community.

You might be surprised that: I have had the dream of becoming an orthodontist since I was 8 years old, and I am the third orthodontist in my family. Orthodontics is in my blood!

What is the most gratifying part of your job?
I can’t describe the feeling I get when I see an adult or child smiling without covering their mouth or feeling embarrassed. Having a smile that they are proud of for the first time can completely change the way someone feels about themselves!

What has been the most challenging part of being a female business owner?
Finding the delicate balance between home life and work life has been the most challenging part of owning a business for me so far.

I admire women who: empower others by continuously building them up and encouraging them to reach for the stars no matter their age, race, gender or goals.

What was the best business advice you ever received?
Delegate the tasks that can be delegated so that you can dedicate your full concentration on the tasks that only you can accomplish. Your team is your biggest asset in achieving your goals, so let them share some of the burden!

I hope more women will: Learn that it is okay to want to be a mom and have a successful career. It is also okay to want one and not the other! Be confident in what feels right to you, and do not let anyone stand in your way!

How can women better support each other?
Show grace toward other women and encourage each other no matter how different our circumstances might be. We can be each other’s biggest cheerleaders, whether we are managing our household and raising children full time, or we are the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. We should reach out, get involved and uplift each other every chance we get.
