How do you define success?
For me, success is when a client is pleased with my design and implements the work. Success is when a public space that I have designed is popular and I hear about it on the street or see my work in other people’s posts, photographs or newsletters. That is happening with Poplar Street, Cherry Street Plaza, Atrium’s Damon King Plaza and signage Macon signs and Beall’s Hill signs.

What are you most excited about right now in our community?
The many “Cs”. This Community is Collaborating on every level. Coordination between organizations has never been greater. Those organizations include government, private organizations, non-profit organizations and funders. Collaboration between organizations about transportation, Connectivity and a trail system that reaches into surrounding neighborhoods. Commercial development in downtown and all the way to Atrium Health Navicent and Mercer University seems to be at an all time high.

You might be surprised to know: Planters for home and business should be attractive and easy to maintain. To me, it has been difficult to find good looking planters in Central Georgia. I am providing planters that are made of composite materials in styles that are both contemporary and traditional in all sizes and shapes. The online shop is up on my website and has been very popular.

What is the most gratifying part of your job?
The most gratifying part of my job is being able to wear many hats, which allows me to be engaged in many aspects of the growth in this community. As a landscape architect, I love seeing the great projects that enhance our outdoor spaces. As a business owner of a co-working space, I am meeting people who are new to Macon and have embraced this community.
