Theatre Macon

A Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play follows Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal, who takes matters into her own hand when she speculates inappropriate behavior by Father Flynn.

4 Macon Beer Festival

October 19, 2 – 7 p.m.

Downtown Macon

The organizers call it “a health fair disguised as a beer festival” with prostate cancer sgreening and education alongside over 100 varieties of craft beer and wine, two music stage, food, and arts and crafts vendors.

5 Macon Mercer Symphony Orchestra

Guest conductor Rei Hotoda, will lead a concert featuring Copland’s “Lincoln’s Portrait” alongside Macon Mayor Lester Miller and former mayors Robert Reichert and C. Jack Ellis reading excerpts from speeches by the 16th President.

Riverside Cemetery and Conservancy

Storytelling will be alive this October for a guided walking tour with actors representing spirits of some of Macon’s most fascinating characters.

An interactive musical experience showing the cult classic film, in which a straitlaced couple stumbles upon the eclectic Dr. Frank-n-Furthers Castle and are in for a weirdly wonderful treat.

Join a Macon Arts Alliance tradition! Shop from over 35 local ceramic and glass artists while they showcase their work right before the holiday season.

 

9 Macon Bike Party: Cranksgiving Ride

Thursday, November 14

Cranksgiving is part bike ride/part food drive from BikeWalk Macon benefiting Middle Georgia Community Food Bank. Bring five dry/canned goods to donate and join us for a party on two wheels around Downtown.

 

10 Main Street Christmas Extravaganza Kickoff

November 29 at 6 p.m.

Downtown MaconLive music from the Macon Pops Christmas Spectacular will serenade the start of Macon’s famous Christmas lights. Bring lawn chairs and blankets for the concert, then enjoy a walk through festive lights across Downtown Macon.
