Macon Magazine is celebrating NewTown Macon for their the Great American Main Street Award (GAMSA) award!

This prestigious annual award is the only award that recognizes a community’s comprehensive, preservation-based approach to revitalization. In the history of the Main Street program, only about 100 communities across the nation have won this award, making @newtownmacon part of an elite group of winners.

Join NewTown Macon this Friday at 10 a.m. on Coleman Hill for a press conference featuring Mayor Lester Miller and DCA Commissioner Nunn, where they’ll speak to Macon’s significant success in its downtown revitalization efforts.

And, Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at Coleman Hill! NewTown Macon and Bragg Jam are teaming up to throw the ultimate Second Sunday to celebrate our new title as a Great American Main Street!

Second Sunday is a FREE concert with the greatest view of Macon on Coleman Hill. With a stunning view of downtown Macon, Coleman Hill is the perfect setting for this family-friendly concert. Enjoy live music by Blak Pearl, FREE face painting by Joann, balloon art by Susana Bixler, games, and Court of Miracles will be there with a fun zone full of kids’ activities, flow arts, a movement workshop, handheld instruments, and live painting.
