Like so many Macon happenings, this is a story of fortuitous connections: Jan Beeland, recently retired executive director of Macon Arts Alliance, was brainstorming ways to celebrate the 50th anniversary of her beloved Potpourri Garden Club.
The Trailblazers Adopt-a-School Initiative was launched in January through a partnership with Southwest High School and Southfield Elementary School. Though unofficial, Ballard-Hudson is the targeted middle school for the initiative, which is an outreach of Bibb Mount Zion Baptist Church,
The Mill Hill Community Arts Center is home to the Mill Hill Bakers Collective, a low-cost shared kitchen space for Middle Georgia residents. The collective was started in March 2019 by the owner of Oh Honey Baking Co., Adriana Horton.
